Meet the People Behind
Trident Financial Services
At Trident Financial Services, we believe strong relationships are the foundation of good financial guidance. When you work with us, you’re not working with a big, faceless firm. You’re working with a family that truly cares about helping you protect what you’ve built and plan for what’s ahead.
Jennifer Lovett
Co‑Owner & Lead Advisor
Jennifer was born and raised in Massachusetts and has always been driven, focused, and competitive — in the best way. Growing up, she spent most of her time diving on a year‑round competitive team, a passion that eventually took her to Boston College, where she competed as a collegiate diver for all four years. She even had the chance to compete alongside her older sister, who dove for Villanova.
Today, Jennifer is usually found on the sidelines of a sports field with her husband, cheering on their four kids. When they get a little free time, they enjoy golfing together, playing tennis, and joining their town’s Labor Day tennis tournament. Living in a town with ski mountains and hiking trails, being outdoors is a big part of their family life.
Professionally, Jennifer began her career at Toyota Motor Corporation headquarters, then moved into finance through Toyota Financial Services. She continued to grow in the consumer lending world, working with Santander Bank and later becoming Vice President of Consumer Lending for Bank of America, covering the Colorado and Wyoming markets.
Eventually, she made the decision to leave corporate life and join the family business, owning and operating multiple tax offices across Central Massachusetts. That move changed everything. Jennifer discovered a true passion for tax preparation and planning and has continued to sharpen her skills through ongoing education and collaboration.
Her goal is simple: to help clients feel confident and secure about their financial future. She looks for creative ways to improve financial wellness, protect assets, and make sure both business and personal clients feel supported, not stressed about their tax and compliance needs.
Jennifer believes tax planning should go beyond paperwork. It should give people peace of mind and the freedom to focus on what matters most in their lives.

Joseph Lovett
Co‑Owner & Strategic Advisor
Joseph brings more than two decades of leadership experience from business, public service, and instruction into everything he does at Trident Financial Services.
Together with Jennifer, Joseph helps lead one of the largest and most successful Liberty Tax operations in Central Massachusetts, overseeing more than 15 physical locations and a growing range of professional services. Their work includes advanced tax planning, business advisory, entity formation, bookkeeping, payroll, and long‑term financial strategy for families, entrepreneurs, and growing organizations.
But Joseph’s background goes far beyond finance.
Before entering the tax and advisory world, Joseph served in both law enforcement and the United States Navy. He worked as a Patrol Sergeant, Deputy Sheriff, SWAT team member, crisis negotiator, and academy instructor — all roles that required calm decision‑making, accountability, and leadership in high‑pressure situations.
Earlier in his career, he served aboard the USS Port Royal as a Navy Fire Controlman, managing advanced combat systems and supervising large operational budgets during major military operations. These experiences shaped his approach to leadership and problem‑solving: be prepared, be precise, and always act with integrity.
Today, Joseph applies that same mindset to helping clients make smart financial decisions. Business owners appreciate his ability to break down complex tax laws into clear, practical strategies. Families trust him for thoughtful planning that supports long‑term stability and peace of mind.
Joseph is also a natural teacher. He has designed training programs, mentored professionals, and continues to value education as a key part of client success. His goal is not just to give advice, but to help clients truly understand it.
